HQ Architects Associate, Smadar Efrati, was invited to speak at the "City: Details" Summit in Moscow, Russia on October 4th. Smadar presented at the session on Art in the Urban Environment. There, she discussed the HQ approach on working between the urban and human scale within a rapidly technology changing urban landscape, and how to create adaptive spaces that can accommodate a wide range of activities, interactive environments that foster social behavior and bring local communities together. Smadar presented several projects including an urban renewal project in Lod, where as part of understanding the urban context the office dealt extensively with the behavioral patterns and habits of the local population and WARDE, a dynamic installation that stitches the urban space together into an inviting public environment.
Smadar also presented the prize for first place in the "Playground" nomination at the "City: Details" Awards
