This project converts the former Israel Agricultural Bank building into a boutique hotel for Brown Hotels, preserving its architectural heritage while introducing new public and hospitality functions.
Built in the 1950s on the former agricultural lands of the German colony of Sharona, the building represents a key piece of Tel Aviv’s institutional modernism. Situated at the edge of a dense residential area, it is surrounded by major cultural and civic landmarks — including Habima Square, the Hall of Culture, and the Cinematheque. The renovation will preserve all four existing floors and facades, while adding two additional levels to accommodate a total of 124 hotel units across 2,190 sq.m. A new ground-floor restaurant and public courtyard will activate the street edge and offer outdoor seating, reinforcing the building’s presence in the urban fabric. The result is a respectful yet contemporary transformation — turning a landmark of Israeli modernism into an open, active, and accessible destination in the heart of the city.
