This new tennis facility in Sderot expands the city’s leisure complex, offering high-quality courts and public spaces while redefining the relationship between sport and landscape.
Part of a larger redevelopment of the city’s recreational zone — which includes swimming, basketball, and soccer facilities — the project introduces four and a half tennis courts wrapped by a circular bridge structure that doubles as both circulation and viewing platform. The bridge rises and dips in height, creating a dynamic spatial experience and accommodating three embedded buildings beneath it. These house changing rooms, showers, and administrative spaces. At ground level, the bridge connects with the existing park, acting as a running path and public promenade. By encircling and partially lifting the courts, the bridge both defines the tennis complex and opens it to the city — creating a new civic landmark for sports, movement, and community life.
