This 7-story mixed-use development replaces a mid-rise structure and courtyard in Jaffa, introducing 98 residential units and 27 commercial spaces while respecting the city’s layered architectural identity.
The project involves the demolition of a 4-story building and the careful reconstruction of a new complex organized around a central courtyard. Designed to support both private and public life, the courtyard acts as a shared interior void, anchoring circulation and providing a calm, inward-facing core for residents. The new building rises over seven full floors and a setback level, with 15 residential units per standard floor and 8 units on the uppermost level. The ground floor is activated by 27 commercial units, supporting a vibrant street edge that integrates seamlessly with Jaffa’s urban rhythm. In keeping with preservation guidelines, the exterior street-facing facade is formal and robust — echoing Jaffa’s material and geometric language — while the courtyard-facing elevations take on a softer, more contemporary character. This duality allows the building to engage respectfully with its surroundings while offering a modern, livable experience within.
